California Legislative LGBT Caucus
Endorses Katherine Perez-Estolano for State Senate
February 18, 2016 – In her race for State Senate, Katherine Perez-Estolano earned the esteemed endorsement of the California Legislative LGBT Caucus. This powerful endorsement comes on the heels of recent game-changing endorsements from the California League of Conservation Voters and Equality California.
“We are proud to endorse individuals who reflect the rich diversity that California is known for,” said Assemblymember Susan Talamantes Eggman, Chair of the LGBT Caucus. “Our caucus members have authored pioneering legislation that protect and empower the LGBT community and we are proud to support Perez-Estolano, who we know will add to this proud tradition. We look forward to welcoming her to the legislature.”
“As the only openly gay candidate in the race, and at a time when the LGBT community is losing representation in elected office, I am so grateful for the support of the California Legislative LGBT Caucus,” said Perez-Estolano. “It is critical for all facets of the progressive movement to come together and ensure our democracy is representative, and that all people – no matter their race, gender, age or sexual orientation – have a seat at the decision-making table.”
Perez-Estolano has called the San Gabriel Valley home for nearly 25 years. She and her wife, Cecilia V. Estolano, live in the Bungalow Heaven landmark district in Pasadena and together have six children. Perez-Estolano is an expert in urban planning, transportation, and community engagement. A small business owner and educator, Perez-Estolano is the Co-Founder of ELP Advisors and is an adjunct professor at both UCLA and USC. She began her career in public service in South Pasadena as Transportation Manager and later Deputy to Pasadena Mayor Bill Bogaard.
